O.k. dudes, they are great
friends of mine and the singer Sigly started to write h.c. reviews inside
this web-inferno, but this can’t avoid a great review not to be labelled
as a favouritism. The truth is W.m.r. are in my opinion the best “real”
Italian h.c. band so far, no discussions accepted as this is only my personal
opinion: maybe, it’s just a matter of tastes. They play the usual old-school
h.c. in the vein of early Gorilla Biscuits/S.O.I.A., but they do it in
a divine way. Raw, fast, furious and in your face. No time for catchy sell-out
anthems, just great sing-alongs and incredibly killer stop-and-gos. To
be honest I’m a little bit tired of the h.c. scene for its repetitive attitude,
anyway I must admit W.m.r. are able to let you do an infernal head-banging
all around your home (when the music is pure blasting impact, the scenes
are just a subject for silly pub-discussion. It’s like h.c. people talking
shit about Integrity for their metal riffing or their dark moods: just
bullshit for masturbationg teenagers). This record whort a chance even
if you are not h.c. listeners. To me, the old-school record of the year!
P.s. the disco and the ghost tracks are pure insanity. Rating: 66+
Rock
Sound:
Great hardcore band that
plays an explosive mix between old and new school. A a very good CD with
powerfull sound, professionally produced. Suitable for jumping and do some
lawn mover dance. Let's do the glorious pile on! Rating: 4 out of 5
Rockerilla:
Powerfull and massive hardcore,
proud choruses and we think total chaos up and down the stage!
Rumore:
13 hymns to the late 80's
old school hc that will make happy those (and they aren't a few) who haven't
foregotten bands as Chain Of Strength and Slapshot.
The
Hardcore Crow:
I've received this CD yesterday
because I plan to make a second and last compilation, called "The Second
Assault of the Crow". I know the band for a long time, but it's the first
time I've got the chance to review their work. At first, I thought it was
still another Old-School band, but I had to listen to it and, really, the
first idea was false. Honestly, yes, it's Old-School, but well thought
and well created. Appreciation? If someone reminds of the good old time
of Old-School bands, such as Olo Seco in Bra-zil, this record is something
worth to have in your collection. Plain good Old-School as they played
it in '88. It's a band that merits to be known. More and more. Rating:
4 out of 5
Il
Mucchio Selvaggio:
After the release of the
international compilation 'Better Known As Hardcore', 8 Records has published
'And Don't Care About The Rest', the new CD from W.M.R., a fast and violent
old school hardcore band, already known with a 7' ep on Mele Marce and
several partecipations to compilations.
Hopes
Of Harmony:
After the partecipation
to the 8 Records compilation 'Better Known As Hardcore', W.M.R. are suddenly
back, after 3 years from their 7" ep, with this totally ravaging CD! Old
school '88... fast, powerfull and violent... no compromises. Don't miss
it!
