REVIEWS

- Flex Your Head (Canada):
Every so often a compilation of unknown bands will come along and knock you on your ass. Better Known As Hardcore is one of them. 8 Records is a young hardcore label out of Italy and they've managed to put together an impressive compilation. One of those one's you'll actually sit down and listen to more than once. What's so surprising about Better Known As Hardcore is the diversity involved. 8 Records have managed to grab some of the best unknown hardcore, youth-crew, new-school, and pop-punk bands out there, and they' re geographically covering the entire globe. Italy, Scotland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the USA... and, yes kids, there is a hardcore scene in Israel. Recommended.
- Still Believe (Germany):
The first release of italian label 8 Records is a compilation featuring 11 bands with 2 songs each from old school to new school hardcore. It's a really cool compilation and it has been done with love. It's not only an audio cd, it does also have a multimedia section for your pc with info on the bands and the lyrics to the songs. The only thing I can say is: go on like this and soon 8 Records will be one of Italy's leading labels. Promise!
- Rock Sound (Italy):
This compilation, released by the brand new label 8 Records, is completely under the banner of  hardcore as you can understand from the title. Eleven bands from all around the world share the tracklist out with two songs each. Heavy and angry sounds that give just a few chances to melody, exception made for Useless ID. Reference 21 rocks!
- Keep The Faith (Germany):
A very mixed hardcore/punk compilation with Recidivist, Striking Distance, Negative Impact, When Mind Reflects,... Each band delivers 2 songs. You get everything on this compilation: old school, metal-core, crust, skate-punk... There's also some multimedia stuff you should check out.
- Pitfather.com (The Netherlands):
An international compilation album is what I received from 8 Records, Italy. And I have to say this album gave me a positive feeling about this label, that I did not know before. Eleven bands from seven different countries playing two songs each. There are bands on it from Italy, USA, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia and Scotland. Another positive aspect of this compilation is that it is also a CD-ROM. I think more labels should take example (...) The band that caught my attention were Striking Distance, When Mind Reflects, Straight Jacket and Cease Fire. Useless ID also caught my attention but that was because they are playing some punk, and the are the only ones on this album. Most of the bands are playing some post-modern-old-school-metalcore, exactly, to label is not my speciality. Maybe you can give some more information?
- Rockerilla (Italy):
The first release from the brand new label 8 Records, based in Pescara (Italy), is a compilation called “Better Known as Hardcore”. It features 11 bands from all around the world: Scotland, Usa, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Australia, Israel and Italy. All the bands comes from the undergound scne, exception made for Useless I.D. already known for signing with Kung-Fu Records, but the label gives us more info about all the bands with a bonus cd-rom track featuring lyrics, pics and biographies. Musically we can find different aspects of the actual Hc scene with particular attention to the old school style.
